Morning
"In his beautiful book Man’s Search for Meaning, Viktor Frankl, the Jewish psychiatrist who is also a concentration-camp survivor, writes: 'A man who becomes conscious of the responsibility he bears towards a human being who affectionately waits for him, or to an unfinished work, will never be able to throw away his life. He knows the why for his existence, and will be able to bear almost any how.'"
I found this quote this morning while reading this.

Friends in Need
I connect with people through the internet far more successfully than I do in person. Through blip.fm, for example, I've become friends with some wonderful people who have become very important in my life. Recently I traveled to San Francisco to meet one such person.
I have varying degrees of contact with the members of my blip family, but I consider them all just that, family. So when I saw that the great ladypn was looking for a kidney donor for her brother, Kevin Bartley, I immediately started clicking away. As a result, I have an appointment next Wednesday to see if I'm a match. I do have a rare blood type, so I'm not the most valuable kind of donor, but there's no harm in trying.
Anyway I have to go do some work now. Just wanted to put this out there while it's on my mind.

I love you super much
This weekend I brought Sami with me into the office. Ab was on a play date. She wrote me this note, at which I barely glanced at the time as I said a generic thank you and went back to my work. This morning I found it in a pile of papers on my desk.
I never understood what it was to truly love someone, until I had my kids. I never knew how to trust, with all my heart. I never knew how to give, completely and unendingly. And even now, even now I see I can forget. Her heart is so open and her love is so pure. She is so trusting and fearless with her love. I have so much to learn from her.
When I grow-up, I want to be just like my daughter.
